Dubai: Shakespeare & Co. in Jumeirah Beach Road

May 31, 2013

As many of you know by now, I am in love with this breakfast nook. I have been frequenting their branches in Marina Mall and Souk Al Bahar but since the weather these days in Dubai is starting to be unfriendly, we have been going to their Shakespeare & Co. in Jumeirah Beach Road since it has an air-conditioned smoking area and a pretty big, covered, al fresco dining area. However, everytime that we are there – something amiss will always happen. Once, we’ve ordered a big bottle of water which we had to follow-up a hundred times only to get one small bottle after 25 minutes that we’ve ordered it. We didn’t really ask for them to change it any longer since we’ve had enough of the follow-ups and we’re afraid that it might take them another 25 minutes to bring us a big one. Another time, they brought us a fredo espresso in a small coffee cup. I mean, seriously??? Who serves a cold drink in a tiny cup? It doesn’t even make sense.

Well anyway, service aside – the food is still amazing. The boyfriend and I discovered a new favorite dish for breakfast – the smoked salmon crepe. Whoever thought of this is a genius!

And I also discovered a meal which doesn’t quite fit my taste buds – grilled shrimp salad. The lettuce was limp and the shrimp was a blah! I will never order that again.

I think among all of the branches of Shakespeare & Co. that I’ve been in, the one in Souk Al Bahar gives the best service.

The smoked salmon crepe looks amazing! I love salmon, so I would definitely want to try it out. I’ve been to the Jumeirah road branch a few times. Once to use their Wi-Fi…But that was a long time ago. But I absolutely agree with you on the service level in that branch. We should go to Shakespear & co together one day 🙂
