Things To Do in Disneyland Paris: Character Breakfast

April 26, 2013

On the second day of our stay during the convention proper, I won a voucher for a character breakfast. Like the stay itself for free in Disneyland and all the other special treatments weren’t enough.

The character breakfast takes place at the Steakhouse in Disney Village at around 8am. It is normally EUR16 for Disney hotel guests and EUR21 for guests staying in partner hotels (properties outside of Disneyland). Trust me though, it was all worth it – specially having had a lousy continental breakfast the previous day which as per Mitzie Mee’s wise words should be legally prohibited. Continental breakfasts that is. So as soon as I’ve seen the bacons, eggs and sausages along with the croissants, cereals and fruits – I was ecstatic.

Now that’s what I call a proper breakfast. Anyhow, this is highly enjoyable specially for the kids since you’ll be able to interact with the characters while you’re having breakfast without having the need to chase them around and wait for your turn for a photo. Each characters will go around the breakfast area in each and every table to meet and greet the diners.

There were a lot of other characters but I was too busy stuffing my face with all the bacon and sausages that they have, so sue me. 🙂

I want to re-watch some of those old Disney movies — especially “Snow White.” I love the “look” of those movies. The newer, computer-generated cartoons are masterpieces too, but there’s something special about the older, pre-Pixar cartoons.

During the convention proper, they showed us how they made the Disney Dreams Nighttime show (https://pinayflyinghigh.com/2013/04/23/things-to-do-in-disneyland-paris-disney-dreams-nighttime-show/). It was really interesting because they had to manually cut each and every piece of character from the old Disney cartoons instead of just making a new drawing. They said these old cartoons are masterpieces and it has grown to a lot of people and didn’t dare create a new one. They don’t want to lose that uniqueness of the characters. Which is why when I watched the show, I was kind of nostalgic whenever they show one of those old cartoon characters that they’ve done.
