Things To Do In Lake Garda: Be One With Nature

Lake Garda

Lake Garda is one of those places that I’ve been dying to go back to since I’ve seen it.
I went there with the Trafalgar group last November of 2011 and it was winter that time. Lake Garda is a summer destination so I don’t really see the point of still having that in the itinerary when you can’t even enjoy it fully. It’s like a laser pointer to a cat – seeing it but you can’t really capture its true essence, it’s mental torture.

It was -1 degree celsius when we were there, cold! FreeeeEEEZING cold! At least for me. The hotel that we stayed in was exactly opposite the lake which again was a mental torture. All these facilities, amenities and convenience and yet – you can’t really do anything about it except to just look at the beauty of Lake Garda.

Lake Garda is the largest lake in Italy located between Venice and Milan. Surrounded by mountains and lush vegetation, the area screams “active tourism” as soon as you see it. It’s charming and quaint, I can only imagine the number of people jumping off the wood plank into the lake with its crystal clear water during summer. I want to be one of them, someday.

We stayed for only a day, well not exactly because we arrived late in the afternoon and departed early morning. Since then, I’ve been dying to go back but haven’t had the chance to. Maybe this year?

For now, I can only pray (meditate) to the travel gods to bring me back to this beautiful place once again…..

So that I will no longer feel jealous of this swan who gets to enjoy the lake all-year round.
