What makes a Friday brunch worth coming back for? Food, price and ambiance most definitely. An added bonus if a 2 for 1 voucher is available with The Entertainer. Right? I’m not cheap! I’m just smart. Why pay full price if you can get it half the price? Ok, ok. Maybe I’m a little bit cheap too. Just a little. :p
We had a great experience during our first Friday brunch at Aramede at the Crowne Plaza Doha that we’ve planned several times to go back there to use our Entertainer voucher. Something always comes up though and it was only a few weeks ago were we able to finally try it again.
We arrived 6 minutes earlier than the scheduled start of the brunch and yet, the lobby of Crowne Plaza hotel was already packed with Friday brunchers waiting for it to start. A reservation is definitely a must! We were seated at the Atrium right opposite the buffet spread. Not a second was wasted as we immediately filled our plates with food and ordered ourselves cocktails.
Asian, Mexican, Seafood and Arabic dishes were available – I, of course focused on the Asian and seafood section. I skipped the salad altogether (I believe it’s just a waste of space in my tummy) and headed straight to the seafood section as my appetizer. For this brunch, I was determined to pace my food intake for me to be able to try out as much dishes as I can. Having said that, with Herculian efforts that only I can manage, I stopped myself from getting a second serving of the seafood.
Next was to try the Asian food section – I filled my plate with a lot of dishes but only one truly stood out from the rest, the barbecue short ribs. Thinking about it now suddenly made me hungry.
Third plate was to try some of their curries – the Thai Chicken curry definitely won me over.
Fourth plate was to have a few pieces of sushi rolls.
My stomach was about to explode after the third plate but I couldn’t pass up the chance to have a few bits of nachos with my drinks. It served as my desserts of course since I’m not really into sweets.
Service was great however, it was taking them a long time to bring our drinks. We were advised by our friendly and very apologetic waitress that it was only one guy who’s doing all the cocktails which was the reason why it’s taking a lot of time. With the amount of people in a Friday brunch, I guess they should have more than one person in the most important section of a brunch. Yes? :p
Apart from that, we still had a great time and we’ll definitely be back again.
Note: I’m fully aware that the photos above did not correspond to the dishes that I was talking about. I didn’t have enough photos from the brunch as I was too busy stuffing my face with food. Lol.
