The Entertainer Qatar: Belgian Cafe at Intercontinental Doha

Belgian Cafe at Intercontinental Doha

Belgian Cafe at Intercontinental Doha is that one place in Doha which reminds The Greek Mister and myself of our days in Dubai so whenever we are missing the city where we met, we just go to Belgian Cafe and we are immediately transported back to Dubai. It was our favorite hangout place in Dubai, back when we both lived a very active nightlife calendar. Whenever we go there, we are guaranteed to have 1. great food 2. lively ambiance and 3. good time with friends – all these apply as well when we visit Belgian Cafe at Intercontinental Doha.

Since we moved to Doha, I think we have visited Belgian Cafe only a couple of times – mainly because we have changed our lifestyle here drastically. We don’t go out anymore as much as we used to and we don’t do well anymore in noisy places which is normally what Belgian Cafe is in the evenings since it’s usually packed. So one Thursday afternoon, after The Greek Mister’s work – we decided to have our lunch date at Belgian Cafe to use my The Entertainer Qatar App voucher. We thought that since it’s still early (12:30 noon to be exact) it probably won’t be as loud as it is during the evenings. We were not mistaken as it was much more calmer in the afternoon – less diners but not actually empty. Just the way we would love our lunch venue to be.

I love the pub-ish decor of Belgian Cafe which is the exact same replica of their branch in Dubai. I also love the fact that they serve all sorts of Belgian fruit beers here which is my kind of drink – fruity and sweet with a bit of kick. :p For lunch, I had Grilled Tiger Prawns while The Greek Mister had Veal Schnitzel.

When our food came, I immediately felt jealous of The Greek Mister’s veal schnitzel which smelled and looked glorious! Being the sweetheart that he is, The Greek Mister gave me an itty bitty piece of it enough for me to decide that it’s definitely going to be my dish the next time we go to Belgian Cafe. Don’t get me wrong though, the tiger prawns I had was also tasty – big prawns served with some kind of sauce which compliments its taste – but I realized that I was in the mood for meat that day after seeing the veal schnitzel. I can’t wait to go back to finally have a full dish of it to myself. :p

Going to Belgian Cafe in the afternoon is definitely going to be one of our usual activities after this. Great food and ambiance with less crowd and you get to have a clear view of Intercontinental Doha’s pool and beach from here.

I would go for that view alone! I’m another loyal fan of the Entertainer App (Abu Dhabi & Dubai) – can save you a packet even if you only dine out a few times a year – I’d highly recommend anyone visiting a GCC country to get one even if your only there a short time as most hotel restaurants accept them #MondayEscapes

That is absolutely true Keri. I remember in Dubai, if you don’t have The Entertainer products people are going to think there’s something wrong with you. It’s just something that you must have as it’s worth all the money you’re going to spend on it. :p

Yep. The Entertainer started in Dubai then to the other GCC countries then outside of it. I’ve been buying their books and now app since I was in Dubai so that makes me a loyal customer now for 8 years. :p
