The Cove Rotana Resort, Ras Al Khaimah

Out of spontaneity, well…. not exactly spontaneity but I have suggested to the boyfriend that we head on to the neighboring emirate of Ras Al Khaimah this weekend because Fujeira is just making me sick already – just for the change of scenery and a new experience for our taste buds.

After my research, we’ve decided to go to Al Hamra Fort Hotel and try their Marina Friday Brunch. When we got there, our eyes laid on such a disastrous image of a restaurant. It’s running between a fastfood chain (reminded me of Jollibee upon seeing the al fresco sitting area with its high-rounded chairs and tables) and a cafeteria. We dared not get out of the car as we thought the 5 minutes of giving-it-a-shot and looking inside the restaurant to see what they have to offer will be a waste of time. We were both very hungry and tired from the 1hr and a half travel from Fujeira to RAK. So we decided to skip it and head on to Hilton instead.

On our way to Hilton, we saw signs going to the Cove Rotana Resort and decided that since my stomach is already rumbling we can go to this resort instead and oh boy was I thankful for that decision. The place was magnificent!!!! It is by far the best resort I’ve ever been to in the whole of UAE (so far). It made me think that I was in the Carribean or something. As soon as I saw the view, I forgot that I was still in the UAE.

The whole property was huge. There were 3 bars and 2 main restaurants. The place is so big you would need to take a buggy car to take you from one point to another. We ate at Cinnamon which was serving Friday brunch at that time. After our big meal, we went on to explore the whole resort and ended up having a blue margarita at the beachside bar called Laguna Bay Bar (from afar, i thought it read Gay Bar which sounded cool specially from a UAE resort :p). After the 5th hour, we decided to call it a day with only one thing in mind – WE SHALL RETURN.

To see is to believe, so let the photos speak for themselves:

Pin it for later:
