My complimentary 3-day luxury stay at the Sharq Village and Spa in Doha includes a 50-minute signature massage of my choice at their in-house Six Senses Spa Doha, a cherry on top of my whole experience at this luxurious property. I booked my massage appointment the day after I checked in and chose to have the holistic massage, a light to medium pressure of soothing massage with long and flowing movements.

Six Senses Spa in Sharq Village and Spa is a labyrinth of alleyways which reflects a traditional Qatari village. I was lost for awhile as I tried to navigate these small alleyways, good thing that a staff saw me and directed me to the women section of the spa. Turned out I was exploring the men’s section. 🙂 Occupying 6500 sq.m., the largest in the region, Six Senses Spa connects 4 separate low-rise Qatari villages which includes treatment rooms, sauna, jacuzzi, changing rooms, a well-equipped fitness center, beauty salon, hot and cold water plunges and a pool.

The receptionist greeted me as soon as I arrived and offered a cold towel. My therapist was already waiting for me and immediately led me to the treatment room when I declined the offer of refreshments. The treatment room again reflects a traditional Qatari environment combined with a luxurious feel to it. Before starting, my therapist ensured that I am comfortable with the temperature of the room. She also explained the oils that she will use and how the massage is going to be. I laid face down on the massage table and she started with the massage, again ensuring my comfort, she made sure that the pressure was just right for me.

50 minutes of pure bliss is not enough that’s for sure, it was the very best massage I’ve ever had. My therapist was wonderful and made sure that I will have the best spa experience and she was successful in doing so as I could not get it out of my mind. I was treated like a royalty the whole time, like getting a complimentary massage isn’t royal treatment enough. After the massage, I was given a short tour of the facilities inside the spa, it was then that I realized how huge the complex is. Their state-of-the-art fitness center was well-equipped with separate areas of t’ai chi, yoga and meditation.

My overall experience at Six Senses Spa Doha was truly remarkable, it’s probably the best spa I’ve ever been to in terms of service and facilities. The only thing I can probably complain about is the massage should last for more than 50 minutes, I could’ve stayed there for probably for 2 hours or even more. 🙂

I agree with Nada, it’s a really beautiful place:) I also usually wish that massages would last longer, but I once booked a 120min session and found out that it was too long for me. After 90 minutes I really had to use the bathroom:)

It felt like a resort inside a resort. :-p I haven’t tried 120min massage yet but would love to! I won’t drink much liquid before, I’ll make sure of that. :-p
