Dubai: Urban Bistro in Dubai Media City

May 4, 2013

I’ll take a break for now from all things French and figured that I should update you of what’s been going on for me in the present time in my present location – Dubai. Well I’ve been eating (as usual) and last Friday, we were supposed to try out Circle Cafe but it was closed or maybe nobody was just sitting outside due to the slight drizzle of rain. A very quirky and funny server from Urban Bistro which is just next door to Circle Cafe saw us and convinced us to try out their restaurant instead. We were thankful that we did and while I was having my brunch, I already made a mental note that this will be included in our “go-to” breakfast restaurant along with Shakespeare and Co in Dubai. You see, I have been on a look-out for a long time now for another cafe/restaurant around Dubai which will give us a good breakfast like that of Shakespeare and Co. but nothing has come close. Until now with Urban Bistro.

I love a good breakfast specially on a weekend. It’s been like a weekend rule for me and the boyfriend now that we will always eat out for breakfast on a Friday, making the most out of the perfect weather of Dubai which is slowly bidding goodbye to us now. I ordered the full urban breakfast

Full Urban Breakfast: two eggs (to be cooked however you want), turkey bacon, vine tomato, beef sausage (a little bit spicy), sweet potato rosti, mushrooms and a choice of tea, coffee or juice. The boyfriend had a spanish omelet which was pretty good too. It was a simple meal but very filling and I loved their sweet potato rosti.

More than the food itself, I think I loved the ambiance even more. Being a Friday and the offices in Media City are closed, it was a very peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city. We have the lake in front of us which made the ambiance more relaxing.

The above was their indoor restaurant, I loved the decor with the bookshelves and all. It opens out to a small terrace which overlooks the lake where we had our breakfast.

I just realized something. Food-blog-photography is an art form unto itself now. And you’re a master of it.

It is an artform which I have yet to master. 🙂 Thank you for thinking that I’ve already mastered it, I think you have to change your glasses though. lol. kidding.

You’re silly. It’s very good photography. And I got some new glasses a few months ago. I can see a lot better now, so I do know what I’m talking about. 🙂
