Preggo’s at Media Rotana Hotel

This is a long overdue post, I have no excuse other than the fact that I’ve been feeling lazy to post anything. Anyhoots, we’ve finally tried Preggo’s the famed Italian restaurant located in Media Rotana. I was once told that it’s the best Italian restaurant ever in Dubai, well as a matter of fact, it’s probably right. I was a bit taken aback though when I entered the restaurant, it doesn’t have a “romantic” vibe in it like most of the Italian restaurant have. In fact, the tables are too close to each other that it somehow reminded me of entering a cafeteria. The ambiance isn’t really what I expected it to be, in a good way though, at least for me because I’m not really into fancy restaurants. The only downside is, the boyfriend and I needed to converse with each other on a hush hush tone if we don’t want the people on the next table listening in our conversation.

Putting it aside, the service was great and the food was INCREDIBLE! The boyfriend ordered prosciutto for starters:

As you can see, it’s a huge serving. It’s probably the most prosciutto we’ve ever been served in one order. I’m not an expert on it but the boyfriend said it was fantastic. For main course, I ordered quattro stagioni:

That, my dear friends, is a pizza for pizza lovers. It was just amazing! I loved how thin the crust was and how cheesy and how tasty it was. All sides of the quattro stagioni has this mouth-watering and lip-smacking goodness. The boyfriend ordered Rigatoni Funghi which is another perfected dish. It’s a pasta with mushrooms and tomato sauce and I don’t know what else. It was amazing as well. We shared the plate of pasta and pizza and after the meal, both of us were having a big, full and very satisfied belly. If not for that, I would have finished the meals – the servings were too huge we couldn’t finish it all. Now thinking about it makes me hungry.

I used my entertainer voucher and got a discount of AED80. The total bill was AED245 after the discount. Sweet. Preggo’s is a must-visit Italian restaurant in Dubai if you’re after the best Italian fare in the city.
