It’s been awhile since I’ve been on a pool and beach access shenanigan here in Doha, it’s just that I’ve been quite busy and summer in Doha is a bit more evident now (I know because our tap water no longer have the cold water option, it’s only hot or hotter). It’s so hot to go outside let alone sit by the pool and enjoy the views but that’s just me because there were quite a few people doing just that at The St Regis Doha when I went.
The pool at The St Regis Doha is massive, so huge that swimming from one end to the other will make you sweat. That or maybe it was just really hot that day. (lol) It was a welcome treat for my eyes though, instead of being confined within the walls of an air-conditioned building, I see the trees surrounding the pool area and beautiful color of their Olympic-size pool – it makes you feel relieved that even if you’re baking in the very hot temperature, you know that a refreshing dip in the pool is just a few steps away from you.
Having said that, we did spend most of our time in the pool itself. I think of all the pool and beach access I’ve done, I was able to maximize the use of the pool in The St Regis Doha the most. Water was of perfect temperature (although I might prefer for it to be a wee bit colder specially if the weather becomes a lot hotter) and having a dip in it immediately refreshes you.
Refreshments are also served throughout the day, small glasses of fresh mocktails are delivered to each guests from time to time and a bucket of ice filled with bottled water is also provided. A spray of cold Evian on your face and behind your ears are also offered complimentary. For those who forgot to bring their sunscreen (like my friend), fret not because the staff will have some with them.
The beach is beautiful, I guess for Doha standards. As you know, I’m not a big fan of beaches in the Middle East but the one in The St Regis Doha looks quite ok, still not for me though as the water’s a bit murky. But I can’t deny the fact that it does look nice.
The pool and beach access rate includes a QR200 food voucher per person which I thought was very much worth it specially since most of the light snacks served at Oyster bar are ranging from QR65 to QR135. Add two drinks with it and you’ve already consumed the QR200 voucher. We had a club sandwich and beef burger, while the club sandwich was a bit too salty for our taste – it was still quite good. The beef burger on the other hand was done to perfection. We requested for the meat to be medium well and it was juicy and very tasty!
We had our lunch in one of the cabanas around the pool area where temperature is much tolerable. I thought it would be a very uncomfortable lunch for us with the heat but I was extremely surprised that the cabanas offer such a drastic change in temperature compared to if you’re going to sit by the pool. We stayed in the cabana until the sun went down before going on our last dip in the pool.
Service was friendly, food was great and the pool was amazing! The St Regis Doha is such a great addition to the growing list of hotels which offers a pool and beach access for us.
I was a guest of The St Regis Doha however as always, photos are my own and opinions stated are genuine and in no way influenced.

Hi, I have a question about the QR 200 food voucher. Does it mean, that you paid the amount and then you can choose what you want to eat or drink, even at higher price? Or you have to choose exactly the food that matches the exact price or less? Thank you
It will have to be within the exact price or less. This post was written in 2016 though, so you might want to check if they still offer this.
Looks wonderful. 🙂 I almost moved to Qatar a few years ago. I’ve only been once but really enjoyed it. We stayed at the Pearl. Love your photos!
Oh yay! What made you stop from moving here? 🙂
This is breathtaking <3 I will suggest this to my family when we go on vacation. Love the shots btw! Which camera do you use to take these fascinating photos? Take care xx Haina
Hi Haina,
Thank you for dropping by. Your comment by the way went to spam probably because of the link. :-/ I use Nikon J2. 🙂
And yes, St Regis is a great destination for a staycation. 🙂
Doha looks fantastic! The pool is amazing, the scenery out of a movie and the food delicious. Can it get any better? This should go straight up to my bucket list!
Zaria
And this is just one of the many pools you can access here in Doha. 🙂
Finished the whole burger! #ThisIsWhyImFat I told you. Lol.
Hi! I really like this post, it’s really interesting.
When I read it I was able to imagine everything you’ve written. The photos did the remainder 😉
This place stole my attention!
Thank you! The photos didn’t even give it justice. :p
You are making the most of the summer (is it summer there yet?) with all these beach/resort access write ups. How wonderfully you photograph the hotel/resort, but am curious where the people are? Why does it seem deserted? Did you wait until everyone cleared out before you took photos? I ask because I’m often impatient and not wait for people clear out (bec they don’t) and shoot with all the people sometimes ruining my shot.
I always go during the weekdays and early mornings so there are always not that many people around. Easier for me to wait for them to clear. Hahaha/
