Dubai, no matter how small this city is – nobody can ever say that they have turned every stone and have been to every places that this great city has to offer. Some places have been here for ages but since we’re a little too busy discovering the “touristy” spots of this place, we somehow tend to overlook the not-so-fancy ones. Anyway, having lived here for almost 6 years now, I say with shame written all over my face that I have been to the Dubai Garden Centre just last week. It’s not that I didn’t know it existed but what I didn’t know is that there is a cafe inside it. Well, it isn’t really promising or has anything really nice to offer. In fact, if I may say there’s a considerable amount of customer service which needs improvement. However, nobody really goes there for coffee or catching ups. We were only there because we needed to use a wi-fi before we go for our zumba class which is located just next door (onto that on another blog). I kinda like it though, being surrounded by greeneries, fountains, flowers and garden statues – it somehow gives you this relaxing feeling until you go out of the place and see the traffic of Sheikh Zayed Road which makes it more like a haven to escape the city life. Eventhough these plants weren’t really there for landscaping purposes as everything displayed are for sale, it’s the fact that you don’t normally get that anywhere in Dubai as it’s mostly concrete buildings which will surround you here wherever you go.
