Still in line with our obsession with steaks, I browsed thru my Entertainer book and found the famous chain of Outback restaurant is listed in there. I wasn’t really psyched about this though because I really hate going to malls for dinner, well Outback is at Dubai Festival City. Why you may ask? First of all, there will be no alcohol there as obviously it’s in a mall and second, parking is always a problem in any malls here in Dubai specially if it’s a Thursday night. Well anyway, since it’s not so far from my house we decided to just go ahead and just decide from there where we’re going to have our alcohol fix for the night over a good ol’ steak.
Good thing about the outback restaurant at festival city is it has the option for an al fresco dining and because summer is fast approaching and we really want to make the most out of this really fair weather of the sandpit, we ALWAYS want to dine al fresco style. So the view from the restaurant overlooks the man-made canal “ala Venezia, Italia” but it was too far from the main strip of restaurants so you don’t really get to see much action from there.
For appetizer, we ordered Bloomin’ Onion which was too much for two people. It was greasy, oily and I liked it! But the serving was just too much that we had to stop at some point and asked the waiter to take it out of our table as it makes me want to vomit just by looking at it. Vomit because probably I’ve had enough of the grease. I loved the dip that comes along with it though.
For the main course, I ordered ribeye steak (of course) with mushroom sauce, mashed potato and vegetables.
While the boyfriend ordered newyork strip fillet with mushroom sauce, sweet potato and french fries. Well the steaks weren’t promising, both were good but not really something that I’d be all crazy about and go back for more. Well, timeoutdubai thought the same thing apparently. Too bad I didn’t look at their website first to see what’s the deal with this steakhouse.
I used my Entertainer voucher and saved AED95.
