New York Steakhouse’s Got Something For You To Look Forward To For Lunch.

Business Lunch at New York Steakhouse, Marriott Marquis City Center Doha,

I’ve always thought that dinner is supposed to be the best meal that you should always have for the day. After a long full day, isn’t it great to cap it off with a good meal? That’s what works for The Greek Mister and myself at least. New York Steakhouse at Marriott Marquis City Center Doha changed this perception though, for them a meal should always give you the best experience no matter what time of the day it is.

I’ve gone to New York Steakhouse several times for dinner and it never fails to impress me. It was only a few days ago was I able to try out their lunch menu which is priced at QR95 per person. For this price you get an appetizer, main course and dessert. Don’t you just love business lunch deals in Doha?

The lunch menu wasn’t very extensive but enough to cover the bases for each discerning palates of their diners. Soup, salad and crab cakes as your options for appetizers. I ordered a salad and the serving was just right. Not too much and also not too tiny. The anchovies was a good surprise for my taste buds.

For main course, you get to choose between a rib eye, burger, dover sole or short ribs. Now this was quite a hard decision to make as I basically wanted to order everything. How do you decide what to order? I kid you not, my decision was based solely on the “eenie minnie miney mo” song that I sang in my head. The black angus burger was the result and I was not disappointed. Oh no, not at all.

The burger arrived beautifully with a side of fries. The serving was huge and I already figured that I won’t be able to finish it all off so I cut it in half. The burger patty was so delicious, juicy and was just bursting with flavors. I’ve no idea what seasonings it had but my taste bud’s absolutely in love with it. The bread bun looked so big but it was actually very soft and fluffy which is what I want to have in a burger. The patty itself is heavy enough, you don’t need so much bread with it. The bread at New York Steakhouse is so light and fluffy that you can squish it all together and the flavors of the meat will still be the evident taste as you take a bite from it. Yummy!

I chose to have the Philadelphia cheesecake for desserts and as expected, it was too sweet for my non-sweet tooth. I only had two bites from it and I was done.

I asked the staff if they can wrap the remaining burger so I can take it home with me and I was surprised that they actually have a to-go box for it. Lol. People rarely do that in Doha, it’s either you finish your food or you’ll have to leave the leftovers. I don’t have the heart to leave this amazing burger though so I was so happy that they have this option.

Seeing the amount of the leftover burger on my plate, the manager of the restaurant came to our table and asked me if there was anything wrong with it. I guess nobody ever leaves their restaurant with a half-eaten burger because it is so good. I’m surprised myself that I didn’t finish it all off. I just told him that I’m on a diet and I plan on eating the rest of it the next day which was a lie because I ate it as soon as I got home. Seriously, you have to try their burger. It’s absolutely worth all the calories. Trust me on this.

New York Steakhouse lunch special is available from Sunday to Thursday, 12pm to 3pm. QR95 per person for a 3-course meal, drinks are not included.

That is a mouthwatering menu, and like you I would have a hard time choosing. When faced with difficult decisions, my husband and I often choose two different dishes and then trade plates halfway through our meals. That burger was seriously huge … so … in the Philippines and Qatar is it okay to ask to take your leftovers home? I know that is considered rude in some cultures.

In the Philippines it is okay but in the Middle East hardly anyone ever do it. Not because it’s rude, just that nobody else really is doing it. Lol.

Beautiful pictures of the food there! I always forget to take pictures before I start digging in! Oh – and then if I do remember my husband gets made that I’m taking pictures while the food gets cold. 😉

Interesting that the manager thought something was wrong with the burger since you only ate half. Doesn’t it mean something that you want to take the rest home? I imagine if you really disliked it, you’d leave the second half at the restaurant and not think twice about it! But, still, it’s great customer service that he checked in on you like that. 🙂

Haha! Actually, I think the manager saw the waiter taking my plate with half the burger on it so he immediately went to our table to ask me how it was. Lol. My husband used to groan a lot when I’m taking photos of our food but now he’s very used to it. :p

Looks like a really good deal! Why not order an entire extra meal (or two) to take home and keep in your fridge for the following day. Then you wouldn’t have to choose among the mains:):)

Nice post! I always enjoy eating big fat juicy burgers at home too as the real fun is creating a mess out of it 🙂 ….

That is absolutely true! Eating a burger in public takes out the joy of eating it sloppily I guess. Lol. Burger’s always tastier at home, now I understand why. :p

That burger looks amazing, I love the thickness of the bun! Great that you could take it home for later 🙂 x
