Armed with the above Cobone voucher, the boyfriend and I went to Nelson’s for their Friday Brunch. We’ve always loved the place so we figured why not try out their brunch as well? We arrived at exactly 12nn and they have literally opened their doors for us and we were the first customers in. It’s a bit embarrassing I figured out later, it made us look like we’re too excited for the brunch that we were already there as soon as their doors opened.

They do have a lot of options for the food, very English though (which of course is the theme of the said brunch). It was a pretty good brunch which is why I was surprised that the place did not get packed as opposed to the one at The Terrace which I didn’t like.

As always, whenever we go to any brunch I will stuff my face with food while the boyfriend stuff his belly with all the alcoholic drink he can consume. Yes, we do have a balance of it. So I had these for my mains.

A whole slab of meat. Ok no, not the whole slab but I think 2 slices of it.

Buttered mushrooms, mashed potato, beef cooked in some kind of sauce and chicken pot pie.

On the second serving, I had all the above except for the beef. The chicken pot pie was absolutely delicious! While trying to decide what to put on my third plate, I saw a woman holding a plate with bacon on it. I panicked because I was almost full and I didn’t see any bacon on the serving table. It means that I probably have missed another serving table which will have the goodness of pork. I searched for it and found the pork meals on the other side of the place. I was a bit disappointed because I didn’t see it earlier, I could’ve feasted on it only.

I still had the chicken pot pie and the buttered mushroom but with pork sausage and pork bacon this time.

And last but not the least, the dessert. I’m not a big fan of sweets so the boyfriend ate most of it.

It was a good brunch, I wonder why people have not flocked the place yet. I’ll definitely go back for more.

That must be what is meant by “full English breakfast”. I could go there just for the bacon, yummy! 🙂

Yes, the bacon was great! A breakfast without bacon isn’t a breakfast at all for me. Too bad it’s very rare to get the real pork bacon around Dubai. :p
