I’ve been feeling so low lately, like I’ve hit rock bottom. Like there’s about a thousand feet of sh*t on top of where I am right now – that low. The thing is, I don’t really know anymore what I want to do with my life. Work has been driving me insane lately due to the fact that I no longer have the drive to do what it is that I’m doing. It’s becoming too monotonous for me: wake up, take a shower, go to work, handle some silly passengers, handle a few good passengers, handle a LOT of irrate passengers, take the bus going home, watch some silly TV series, go to sleep, repeat from the top. It seems to me like, I’m going to work because I have no other choice but to go there and earn my keep. The passion, the drive, the excitement – all those are gone now. I need to do something else. Something which will turn on the lively workaholic machine that I once used to be.
I have been going thru a lot of applications lately, in fact I think my resume is scattered all over the world at this very moment and someone is probably reading it right now and would type my name on google in a few minutes to see what nasty things about me they can find. Fortunately, the blog is not YET showing when you search for my name. Tee hee. Anyway, there were about 3 job offers in Singapore which I declined because it’s either 1. the salary offer was too damn low or 2. the job they offered is the same thing that I’m doing right now and I’d be a fool to take it even if they give me 100 times more than the salary that I’m getting right now. You see, it’s no longer about the money, it’s the satisfaction that I will get at the end of the day after a hard day at work. That’s what I’m looking for now, something which I will enjoy.
These, for me, defines a job which is perfect:
1. Something which entails a lot of traveling, be it domestic or international.
2. Something NOT in the customer service field, like a back office or something.
3. Something with a fast-paced environment, a lot of multi-tasking, deadlines and such.
4. Something which offers a good chance for advancement, in the future of course.
5. Lastly, something which offers a 5-digit salary.
Are those too much to ask for? 🙂 The above are arranged in chronological order based on the most important factor to the least. Yes, I live to travel.
