I was more than delighted when I received an exclusive invitation to attend the grand opening of Hotel Novotel Dubai Al Barsha last week. It was a carnival-themed party which made me say yes to it without even checking all the details yet. Gladly, it was after working hours on a Monday so I dragged my friend H along with me. It was all hyped-up when we arrived, Samba dancers were at the entrance to take your photo with as a souvenir and the full reception area was in a very festive mood.
Cocktails were overflowing as well as canapes at the reception as the French Ambassador to the UAE, His Excellency Michel Miraillet, officially opened the event. After the program proper, a spectacular party followed – performances from samba dancers and an aerialist made the already festive mood more lively. It was grand, fun with a real carnival feel. They do know how to create a great party I must say.
Afterwards, we were invited to try out the lavish buffet spread from 3 of their restaurants – Bubble Bar where they served a huge array of seafood for all of us to enjoy, Cravin Cajun which served a typical Southern-style comfort food and an extensive choice of desserts at Java Coffee Shop.
I have always seen the Novotel chain of hotels as more of a business hotel but Hotel Novotel Dubai Al Barsha changed my views of it altogether. It’s not only for business travelers as it will definitely be able to deliver satisfaction to all kinds of travelers. With its prime location near to the metro and within a walking distance to the popular Mall of the Emirates, it’s going to be one of the most sought-after hotels in the city. One thing which caught my attention as well is that they offer free wi-fi all over the hotel (very important for me) and they’ve got a kid’s club for all ages. For someone working in the travel industry, I have been asked hundreds of times by my clients to give them only a hotel with a kid’s club so I’m always on the look out now for these kinds of properties catering to the needs of not only the adults but of the kids as well.
They’ve got a poolside bar as well called Deck Se7en located on the hotel’s 7th floor with the views of Sheikh Zayed Road and Jumeirah. I wonder if they are ever going to have any New Year’s Eve party up there because if they are going to throw one like what they’ve done for their grand opening, I definitely won’t miss it.
Novotel Dubai Al Barsha’s Facebook page does have great photos too of their opening, visit their website here.
