The Entertainer Qatar | MBCo It’s not just about sandwiches.

MBCo at The Gate Mall

I’m not quite sure as to why do I have this thought that MBCo. is all about sandwiches and burgers? I’ve seen their branch in Dubai Mall numerous times thinking it’s a posh place to eat a sandwich or a burger – with its location overlooking the ice rink. It’s probably the all-white interior which makes it too pristine for my eyes, it doesn’t have the welcoming vibe of what a burger or sandwich joint should have. But then I realized just the other day that it’s not all about burgers and sandwiches.

I met a friend for lunch the other day at MBCo at The Gate Mall. Located at the first floor of the mall overlooking the outdoor seating area of Lavazza, it was an ok place to have a meal. Ok because I’m not really a fan of dining inside a mall, I think if it had an outdoor seating then it would’ve been much better.

Staff was quick, attentive and very helpful. They had a lunch offer which gives you a choice to have an appetizer and a main course for QAR49 per person. Great price if you ask me. My friend and I both had pumpkin soup for appetizer which I thought was very fitting to the weather that we now have in Doha. Well ok, to be honest – I wasn’t feeling very well that day so I thought the soup would make me feel better.

And oh boy it really did! The pumpkin soup was very creamy, very tasty and very filling. Both my friend and I couldn’t stop finishing the soup even if we both know that it will fill us up quickly and we might not have space for our main courses. As I told my friend, it’s too good to be wasted. I don’t want to look back in time and think “I should’ve finished that”. Lol.

For our main course, my friend had lasagna while I had a dish which looks and tastes like au gratin. I forgot the exact name of the dish though. Bad blogger, I know. Shame on me.

While my friend enjoyed her lasagna so much that she was able to finish the whole portion of it, I found my dish good too but personally – I’d put more cheese on it. That’s what my tongue used to unhealthy choices is telling me. I did really enjoy it though, just that I would probably rave about it even more if there was a lot more cheese. 🙂

I would go back to MBCo at The Gate Mall most definitely and try out some other dishes they offer.

Mouth watering dishes. I imagine really filling. You know my husband adores pumpkin soup; but I’m more of a tomato soup/bisque person.
