Doha | Cold-Brewed Coffee, A New Coffee Trend Comes To Wyndham Grand Regency Doha

January 19, 2016
Cold Brew Coffee in Wyndham Grand Regency

I’m not a coffee person in fact, I don’t need a cup of coffee to start my day. It was only very recently that I discovered how good it is to have a coffee after a meal but even then, I don’t do it that often. Whenever I’m in Greece though where every single person must have a caffeinated drink at least twice a day, I tend to order the Greek frappe as well myself. What’s not to love about this foam-covered iced-coffee drink? It’s cold and refreshing plus it’s sweet and not that strong compared to the normal coffee. So imagine my surprise and excitement when I received an invitation from Wyndham Grand Regency Hotel to attend a Cold Brew Event which is launched in all Wyndham properties all over the world. Cold coffee trend is finally here in Doha!

Starting 14th of January, you can now have cold-brewed coffee in all Wyndham properties created by the award-winning chef Stephanie Izard whose inspiration to create such innovative flavors came from (as odd as it may sound) Chinese cuisine. The Five Spice Shaken Iced Coffee is not your ordinary everyday coffee, flavored with Thai chili, cinnamon, clove, star anise, and sweetened condensed milk – it’s definitely something your taste buds will love. It was the first drink that I tried during the launch and I immediately have to get another glass of it.

Everyday of the week, Al Kut Cafe in Wyndham Grand Regency will have a happy hour featuring all these cold-brewed flavors between 4 to 6pm. Coffee lovers will have a chance to taste the innovative flavors of caffeinated drinks which will give you a different kind of jolt. If you’re going to try it, the five spice shaken iced coffee is a definite must!

I can only drink cold coffee, even at home when I have my coffee (very rare) I usually put ice in it or just let it sit for awhile before drinking. :p Any luck on Wyndham in Singapore?

I didn’t drink coffee until I got married. My husband went once to a coffee workshop (as part of his job) and he said it was a lot of fun. So, I am sure it will be nice to attend a Cold Brew Event. I imagine the coffee they prepare taste way better than what we prepare at home.

I can imagine why you would love coffee, the aroma is definitely a plus even for me who isn’t a big fan of it. 🙂

Delicious. That coffee looks so fancy, I wonder if I would prefer it to the traditional latte.

The spices used in it were surprisingly good! I did love it and would probably prefer ordering it than my usual latte if it’s available. :p

I am a coffee person. But I don’t like all the fancy foam art on my coffee kind of thing. Although occasionally I do get those fancy coffee. I grew up drinking coffee, much younger than would be allowed here in the US, but of course I grew up in PI so everything’s okay. Yes, it’s good after a meal too.
