Doha: Asian Fare at Hwang in Intercontinental Doha The City

A few months ago, we let our Entertainer App  decide where we’ll have our dinner when my mother-in-law was visiting. That’s one of the best things about having your Entertainer App, decision-making on where to go for dinner becomes easier as you’ll just look for a restaurant which the application offers. :p We came across Hwang, an Asian restaurant in Intercontinental Doha The City which I have been dying to try out. Gladly, the Greek Mister was in the mood for some Asian cuisine too.

We arrived in a very busy restaurant which came to me as a surprise as it wasn’t the weekend when we went there and normally, restaurants around Doha are only busy during the weekends. We passed by a table of a Chinese family enjoying their hotpot, which is always a good indication that what you’re about to experience is good. Asians in an Asian restaurant, always a good sign. :p

A complimentary shrimp crackers was offered which is a norm in Asian restaurants. The service was very attentive and quick, we had everything we need before we even asked for it. As always, we skipped appetizers and ordered main course immediately. I had fried seafood noodles while the Greek Mister and mother-in-law both had miso ramen.

They serve San Mig light. Yay! :p

Food was delivered in no time and I must say that although I enjoyed my fried seafood noodles, I can’t help but be very jealous of the Greek Mister’s miso ramen. It was extremely tasty and really fills you up. The mother-in-law who isn’t very used to Japanese cuisine didn’t like her ramen though. Hah! Now that I’m writing about it, I should’ve switched our orders.

Miso Ramen Soup

Hwang only allows one voucher of the Entertainer App to be used for a party of 3, fair enough. I’d definitely go back to have my own full serving of miso ramen. 🙂

Ha ha, the ramen looks a bit new age to me too (what did they do to that egg??). Miso ramen can be a bit on the heavy side, but after tonkotsu, it’s my favorite broth. Otherwise the food looks really nice, but I’m always a bit skeptical about “Asian” restaurant, as Asian cuisine is so diverse. It would be the same to open a European restaurant:):)
