Covid-19 Lockdown Day 24

I don't know who needs to hear this but it's Wednesday today!

“I know how hard it is for you, this lockdown and being furloughed so I have a gift for you” the Greek Mister said one morning. He then showed me our sink which is filled with used dishes that needed to be washed. He thinks he’s clever and funny.

I don’t mind though, that’s all I’ve been doing the past few days. My schedule involves a lot of household chores (I’ve even deep-cleaned our oven); Netflix; online ballet class, reading a book and eating one meal a day (because I just couldn’t be bothered lol). The husband cooks every night, he loves cooking and he’s actually a very good cook. He’s a civil engineer by profession so following cooking instructions to a tee is his forte, everything that comes out of our tiny kitchen is freaking fantastic! So he’s the cook and I’m the dishwasher, perfect match! :p

Going to the supermarket is now a very special occasion that both of us do together. It’s the only time that we get to see other people for a longer period of time and now that it’s warm outside, we don’t mind waiting in line to get in the supermarket (with a 2m distance from other shoppers) because there’s a limited number of people that are allowed to go in. They’re also allowing the old and vulnerable first as well as those working in hospitals, the heroes of our modern world. Who would’ve thought that something like this, this social distancing business, will happen in this lifetime?

Little things that make me happy these days: some of the restaurant suppliers have now opened their website to the public here in the UK so we can now order restaurant-quality meat, seafood and produce without ever leaving our apartment. I am more interested in getting some really good seafood because I’ve been eating too much meat these days.

I’ve also ordered my first paint-by-numbers kit from an online seller to keep me sane and busy. So I’m looking forward to receiving it and start painting an Italian seaside scenery.

I’m also waiting for my German sausage order, we were supposed to spend our Easter holiday in Germany which we obviously had to cancel so I thought I’ll bring Germany to our table and ordered some bratwurst instead from another restaurant supplier which recently opened their website to the public. I’ll update you on that once it arrives which is supposed to be today but was rescheduled for tomorrow. 🙁

Finished reading: The Woman In The Window, I predicted who the culprit was but the “why” in the end was still a twist.

Finished Netflix series: Unorthodox which is about a Hasidic Jew woman who left her community in New York and moved to Berlin. The series opened my eyes about this very unique and interesting group of religious people who I didn’t know existed, until this series. Absolutely loved it!

Finished Netflix movie: Tigertail, a story about what life would be like without love. I loved it even if the acting isn’t very phenomenal. :p

Currently reading: Fear of Dying by Erica Jong which isn’t my cup of tea but it’s in my kindle for some reason so might as well read it. We’re also watching Bloodline on Netflix which is sooooooooo freeeeaaaaaaking slooooowwww but since we’ve already started it might as well finish it. We’ve got a lot of time in our hands anyway. :p

Anyway, that’s it from me for now. What are you upto?

Wash your hands!

On reflection what is your opinion of Chester.
Quaint? Old world? In 2010 meals there were fairly substantial and a fair price. I had an awkward experience with simple Macca’s one night. Ordered cherry pies following the meal. Got apple, took it back and the woman replaced it. Then a minute of two later the Manager appeared, gave me a cup of coffee and TWO cherry pies with a profound apology. Did he know we were Aussie? .

I loved Chester! I like its old world charm, the only thing that I didn’t quite like about it is it’s too quiet. Lol. I guess I was expecting a bit more action at night specially during dinner time. Most of the restaurants were empty and it just didn’t have that inviting atmosphere.

Hope you enjoyed the two cherry pies, that was nice of the Manager! :p

Two ? Wait until there is a zero behind that number. maybe replace the 2 with a 6??
Hope charity and love all come together to make it grand.

Ahhhhh no, hopefully it won’t be worst than it is now. 🙁
