Things To Do in Strasbourg: Visit the Strasbourg Cathedral de Notre Dame

May 24, 2013
Among all of the Notre Dames that I have seen, I think Strasbourg Cathedral de Notre Dame is the grandest and biggest so far. After my research, it is actually the 6th tallest church in the world. It is the most popular landmark of Strasbourg and somehow, I felt like it’s a little bit out of place with its gothic architecture amidst the timber houses of Strasbourg. Like all the other medieval churches, it boa

Where I stayed in Strasbourg: Le Kleber Hotel

May 22, 2013
From Paris, I took the train from Gare de l’est at 1142hrs and arrived at Strasbourg train station at 1405. One tip when taking the train, be there much earlier than your departure time specially if you’re not very familiar of using the rail system. I was at Gare de l’est at around 11am and I still almost missed the train. I spent almost 40mins running around the station trying to figure out where

Things To Do in Paris: Enjoy the nightlife in Bastille.

May 21, 2013
My friend K brought me to a bar in Opera first but we found the supposedly “hip” bar a total bore so we went to Bastille instead and tried our luck there. Bastille reminded me of Malate in Manila – lots of bars, clubs, restaurants, cafes, bistros lining up the streets of Bastille. K told me that it is most popular to the younger crowds since the prices of the establishments in this area are mid-ra

Well that’s easy, it’s the same for men and women – wear a black shirt with a black pants with a black boots and bring a black umbrella, if you’re a little bit crazy then put a gray scarf.” That was a

Things To Do in Paris: Take a nap at the Luxembourg Gardens

May 19, 2013
I already had a clear idea in my mind that I will spend at least half a day in this garden which I have missed to visit the first time I was in Paris. It was one of the places that I was looking forward to visit for this trip, this and the Sacre Coeur. I bought an eclair, hot coffee and water from the bakery just across the garden before entering the park. It was a perfect park day as it was not very chilly. It was

Things To Do in Paris: Explore the area of Pigalle.

May 17, 2013
The night before, I posted a Facebook status asking all my friends if they can give me some tips on which places should I visit the next day in Paris. I already have some things in my mind but I felt like I needed to seek some advice from all my well-traveled friends as well. One reply I got was from a French guy himself and of course being a guy, he suggested for me to go to Pigalle. (Men!) To be honest though, I
