In some other parts of the world, the dreaded season would be winter but in our case, we wait for it so very eagerly every single year. Summer isn’t really enjoyable here in the Middle East, what with the heat of the desert which seems to me like a biblical punishment rather than a mere climate. The other day, I looked at the weather report and it was twenty freakin’ six degrees celsius! From 40-ish down to 20-ish, this calls for a celebration! And celebration indeed it is! Last night, I went out for dinner with a friend and the al fresco dining area of the restaurant is now open (every outdoor areas are closed here during summer) and there was not a single table available for us. The whole of Dubai has come out to play in this fantastic weather. Then yesterday morning, this was what I woke up to:

A foggy Dubai.

That fog right there is one of the most anticipated event after summer, that only means that a new season is coming to hover over the whole of Dubai. A fog and a sandstorm are our two indications of season change here. I don’t really know what scientific explanation it holds but that’s always what happens before a season change here. So yes, the heat is off in Dubai. Let’s all paint the town red! Woop Woop!
