Life in the sandpit

Once again….

I’ve been silent, again. On the previous post, I discussed about me getting sick and losing my voice and then some herbal medicines after, I regained my health. Well, it didn’t last for long because I was a bit stupid over the weekend. A friend of mine invited me over for dinner and drinks to celebrate his birthday and since he was a dear friend of mine, I couldn’t say no. I did say no though to a lot of drinking as I took only 2 glasses of very diluted rhum with coke. Trust me, that’s a “sick girl drinking” sign right there because if I wasn’t sick, I may have finished 5 glasses. Minimum. (Well hello there gastritis?)

However, what I was unable to say no to was the karaoke. You see, we’re Asians and no matter how weird it may seem for all you people who came from the Western part of the world, we LOVE to sing. Whether or not you have a good singing voice, you are allowed to sing. Noone is allowed to mock you. That’s just how we roll. \m/ It has been a very long time since I’ve had one of them karaoke sessions so I was quite thrilled to be hearing my voice over a loud speaker and I think I actually overdid it. Given the fact that I was without a voice 2 days before the said the party. Well, the next day, I was this cartoon right here:

Literally coughing my lungs out. I was unable to sleep for 2 whole nights because of the involuntary coughing my stomach muscles feel like I’ve done a million sit ups because of it. All throughout the day, my chest feels heavy too – like the tallest tower in the world, the Burj Khalifa, was suddenly transferred on top of my chest. I don’t know about you but it sure feels creepy, it really was hard for me to breathe. Anyhow, I still have the cough now but at least the heaviness on my chest somehow subsided. Still there but no longer a Burj-Khalifa magnitude.

You may be thinking what kind of singing did I do exactly that night? Well, I know it is quite impossible for me to sing this song, what with the voice that I have, but I did sing this amongst other songs of the same calibre:
