Much Ado About Nothing

Birthday Surprises.

It’s my mom’s birthday today and I thought of giving her something apart from the normal birthday call that I do every year. I don’t know why I haven’t thought about it before, but I realized a few days back that I can actually give her something off from the interwebs. You can practically buy anything online these days and have it delivered to your or someone else’s doorstep. I wonder why my brain only gave me that information this year, 2012. :p

Anyway, I thought of giving my mother flowers and with the help of my sister, we found this SUPPOSEDLY reliable website where you can find all sorts of flower arrangements and have it delivered in the US. I said SUPPOSEDLY because up until now, 1148hrs, I still haven’t received an SMS from my sister telling me that my mom received the flowers already. So we’ll see how reliable they really are – in a few minutes I hope. The website is JUSTFLOWERS, contrary to the website though, they do have other products available for delivery such as fruit baskets, chocolate, cookies, teddy bears and wine gifts. Since I’m really clueless about flowers, I asked my sister to pick out something which our mother would most likely like because if I am to pick out a bouquet, it’ll probably be the most colorful basket that I could find with such disregard if it’s borderline tacky or just a pointless flower arrangement. My sister picked this out for me:

Petit Phalaenopsis

Petit Phalaenopsis

She picked out an orchid instead of a bouquet because 1. our mother loves orchids and 2. our mother will be able to take care of it which will then prolong its lifespan compared to a bouquet which will probably last for 4 days. That’s actually what I have in mind too, see? Turns out I’m not really dumb when it comes to flowers.

Well, I do hope she gets the flower. I am currently in touch right now with JUSTFLOWERS to check the status of the delivery. It’s taking them quite some time though to reply on their live chat option. I’ll give you an update on it. :)

  1. Dude I appreciate your thoughts pretty much. Whatever ideas you followed to surprise your mom in her birthday is great. I’m inspired and will follow the same way to surprise my mom as well. Thanks
