Much Ado About Nothing

The Entertainer Book 2011

i just bought the my now MOST FAVORITE BOOK IN THE WHOLE WORLD: The entertainer 2011.

For those of you who lives in a mine and doesn’t know what an entertainer book is:

2011 Entertainer book

What is an Entertainer book?
it’s a book full of coupons from different restaurants, bars and even special activities in Dubai (eg. desert safari, aquaventure waterpark, wild wadi etc. etc.). the coupons are of a buy one, take one kind of thing. You get 3 coupons of each restaurant/special activity store to which you can use without limits.

How it works:
When ordering two or more main courses, the restaurant will deduct the cost of the least expensive main course. So I’ll give you the meal we had last night as an example:

Lasagna: AED75
Seafood Risotto: AED88
Drinks: AED90
Total bill: AED253

But instead of paying AED253, with an Entertainer voucher it will only be AED178 as a total bill. Now if this isn’t a sweet deal then tell me what is. Fun part is, you can use all three coupons in one go depending on how many people are dining. Last year, 10 of us ate at Barasti and we ended up paying only AED90 each including drinks.

How do I use it?
Just tear out one of the coupons and show it to the restaurant when you ask for the bill. No questions asked, the discount will be given right away.

Any limitations?
Well, desserts and drinks are not included and you cannot use it in any of UAE’s major events such as:

Christmas Eve
Christmas Day
New Year’s Eve
New Years Day
Eid Al Fitr
Eid Al Adha
Valentine’s day
Mother’s/Father’s day

Seriously, this book is worth all the penny though the price has hiked up compared to last year (it costs AED350 now as opposed to AED280 last year). I bought the same book last year and I think I’ve saved around AED1000++ from all the weekend dinings me and the boyfriend did. You don’t believe me? Here’s the list of some of the restaurants/stores we’ve used the coupons for last year:

The Noodle House
Al Fresco
Biella
Black Canyon
Da Shi Dai
Jimmy’s Killer Prawns
La Veranda
Lemongrass
Marzano
Napoletana
Shark Bites
Urbano
Vapiano
Wagamama
Zaatar W Zeit
Mozaique
Waves
Seville’s
Apres
Barasti
Carter’s
Jules Bar
Left Bank
Gonu Bar
Cold Stone Creamery
Baskin and Robbins
Morelli’s
Burger King
Dunkin Donuts
Marry Brown
Salathai
Santino’s
Aquaventure
Dubai Autodrome

Do take note that there are 3 coupons in each restaurants. :D and this is how my Entertainer book 2010 looks like after tearing up the coupons:

hehehe

I really don’t mind paying AED70 more this year as the book is filled with more coupons now compared to last year’s. Tee hee!

it now has two separate books. one for family and casual restaurants and another for cafe & nightspots, informal dining and take away and sports, pleasure & activities.

2010 book on the left and 2011 book on the right.

and the 2011 book is no doubt thicker and filled with more coupons than last year’s. yay!!!!

I think Dubai will be broke by the end of this year if everyone takes a copy of this book. :p
